NEUROLINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING
Neurolinguistic programming is the study of the structure of subjective experience. This discipline studies patterns (programming), which are created by the interaction between the brain (neuro), language (linguistics) and the body.
NLP studies the way the brain and mind work, seeking to understand how they construct thoughts, feelings, emotional states and behaviors.
NLP studies the way in which information in the mind, our thoughts, is processed. NLP also studies the influence of language, using the most effective way to activate the nervous system of other people, facilitating communication.
Why do you think NLP is efficient and important?
NLP works with thoughts, creators and builders of reality. Every day we have 60,000 thoughts, the vast majority of which tend to be negative. Learning to understand the patterns of our thoughts, how to redirect them and use words to our advantage is essential to achieving comprehensive well-being.
If we understand that “we are what we think” NLP becomes relevant and becomes a crucial element in our lives.
When it's used? When do you use it most frequently?
NLP is usually an important part of my workspace with clients. Since it works with thoughts and language, this tool is very useful for people who, for example, tend to have negative language about themselves, or on the other hand in anxiety issues since many times these anxious states are generated by our own thoughts.
As an Expert in Comprehensive Wellbeing, NLP is my companion in a large percentage of consultations. Highlighting with my clients the importance of language and working together with thoughts. In the latter, the first thing we do is a “thought diary” since it is important to know what things we think about to better understand why we act the way we do, the actions we take and even the impact they have on our emotional state. .
In short, NLP is a very useful tool to understand ourselves and empathize with the environment that surrounds us. A famous concept in this branch is; "The map is not the territory". That invites us to understand that humans perceive life from our own experience and that others do the same. From this perspective we can develop much healthier relationships, from understanding, understanding, empathy and, above all, assertive communication.
